Today we are off to Hachioji to see the Emperial Tombs and Hachioji Castle grounds. The Castle itself is long gone, but its a really nice area to walk around, as the path leads through forest to the area it once stood.
Hakone »« Kawagoe
Half of my time in Tokyo I stayed with my friends Aiko and Masa, so we made a few day trips. First up is Kawagoe, an old town about 40min from central Tokyo by local train. Famous for everything sweet-potato, the Bell Tower, Candy Lane (lined with shops selling old school sweets and toys) and Kawagoe Castle, which was closed for renovations! Many of the buildings have preserved their original appearnce from the Edo Period.
One of Aiko’s friends lives in Kawagoe so we also visted her and played with her two kids for a few hous!
