Kew Gardens
Keiko, who I met last week at Finsbury Park, invited me to Kew Gardens which was on my list of places to see! My French house mate Claire also came, so in total it was 5 Japanese girls and 1 French Girl. It looked like and English school field trip, me being the teacher! haha. Kew Gardens are the huge Botanical Gardens in London, and they have various plants and flowers from around the world. They even have some Australian species, but it was a very small area – probably because they don’t get enough sun to survive here!
There’s a couple of conservatories with controlled temps and high humidity, with upper observation walkways. There’s also a treetop walkway which is quite high up and you can feel the structure swaying a little as you walk around, so people were quite cautious walking along it! It’s pretty cool, but there needs to be monkeys or at least some birds to look at, rather than just the tops of some rather normal looking trees!
I know nothing about plants, so don’t expect me to know what any of these photos are actually of. Except of course the infamous Venus Fly Trap! And Trumpet Pitchers, thanks to David Attenborough.
