I joined a tour group in Rio for 2weeks. With 3 other Aussies, 4 english, 1 Austrian and 2 Americans, we were lead by our Perivian Guide Francesco (aka Pancho). We all went out to dinner and drinks that night to kick start things.
Next day we joined a Favela Party in Rio, (seriously like City of God), we were surrounded by massive Brazilians who were all to willing to force kisses onto the girls of the group (And a couple of scary looking “Tall Girls” too). Apparently the guys are so pushy because Brazilian Girls are so tough to crack. The deep Brazilian beats were paused for an impromptu dance off on stage! Fireworks shot on cables towards us then showered onto the crowd. All fun until again fights began outside and we left about 4.30am before things get real bad.

Next day we headed to Paraty to a beautiful hotel with a swimming pool & sauna. A full day cruise followed on the BANZAY boat! And at night we had a bit of a party, played poker, and I even had a birthday cake!

At the airport I toyed with one of the dodgy Taxi drivers you see in every big city. He tried to get me to use his “taxi”, so I said I had no cash. He directed me all the way to the ATM, waited away from it for about 5min, eventually I asked (curious) what he wanted to charge to get into the city. He didnt answer and just ushered me towards his car, finally we got there and I refused to put my luggage in until he told me the price, he showed me a price list and I laughed at him! He wanted 80reals, I knew the bus was 6!! So I told him Continue Reading…

After the bus, the ferry got in to Corfu around 7:30am, and we waited for a few more people before fitting again 6ppl in to a car and driving back to the Pink Palace, where we had to take our Ouzo shot at check in haha. But it was Wednesday, and that means…TOGA night! We all Continue Reading…

After getting off the bus we jumped on the train and headed to Athens Backpackers Hostel. Quite large rooms with little balconies looking to the street, small bar downstairs where we went to sleep for a few hours because we couldn’t check in yet, people just walked around us going to breakfast, we then found the upstairs lounge directly above with comfy sofas, a projector screen, speakers etc! Good place to meet people, have a drink etc. Close to the station and some of the attractions are within walking distance. Internet was OK but the computers were ancient! They also run tours etc from there.

Now Athens may appeal to some, Continue Reading…

Part of the check in procedure at The Pink Palace, is a shot of Ouzo. They don’t give you your room keys until you have done it, even when its early morning haha

Our room looked over mountains, beach, and QUAD BIKES.
Yes, the ultimate form of transport. On the form “Do you have a licence?” Yep, just tick the box, no actual number required. We went on the Quad Safari to a secluded beach, mountains, lookouts etc. AWESOME
That night began the first of many Drinking Games, followed by Continue Reading…

Christoph the swiss (aka Tofu) and I met at Stockholm airport to go to Shahab’s place for a mini Tokyo reunion! Shahab is a fellow Vegan and also into party organising, so he had quite a weekend planned!
Stockholm & its people = beautiful & friendly! Plus they love to drink and Party!
First night we tried a local bar and met a very strange african/russian guy.
Friday it was the Central Bath for spas, saunas, pools etc. Followed with THE BEST Vegetarian Buffet EVER! 3 plates later i could barely move. At night we hit 2 cool bars for dancing and drinks. And a funny event on the bus that could only be understood by us, landed us shouting “Ohayou Gozaimasu!” (good morning in Japanese) at 2am just before a Japanese guy got on the bus with some Swedish mates! Very funny.

Next day Shahab led us on a walking tour all through Stockholm before a fun house party but unfortunately no time to visit the mega-motherland-IKEA store before ending out my time in Stockholm!

Its almost as expensive to leave as live! After a couple moths of work, stability, and reviving both me and the bank account, I’m about to get back into the action!

Last minute plans (as always) I rushed to Dublin for the weekend to meet the Moran Clan, including my 2nd cousin Frances who is over from Chile for her brothers Art Exhibition! Unfortunately I stuffed up my timing and missed the exhibition and it rained 80pc of the time!

Oh the new airport rules are fun, 1 bag only, lose your toothpaste, deoderant, water, Take your shoes n belt off, stand there half naked.. meanwhile look at the guy who’s checking your luggage and the crew of Air-Queda walking around the airport!!!
Here’s to new security measures! cheers.
