Mitsubishi Displays needed to show off their new Projection Technology, requiring footage for 5 screens of various resolutions between 2K and 4K, while having to sync with eachother and at times join connecting screens to seemlesly form a larger picture. Based on 4 different styles of dance and music, actors were shot entirely on Green Screen using HD cameras. Style frames and ideas were then used with freedom given to create 2D backgrounds for each actor and screen, and 3D images over the top.
In all, over 60,000 frames of HD were keyed, 2D backgrounds generated for all footage and screens, composited together with 3D, and new images rendered - all in a matter of weeks! This is a selection from 1 of the 4 dances.
